History

The Truant Scholars began in 1999 playing rock and punk covers in a garage and worked for over a year and half improving their instrumentation and cohesion. In 2001, they started writing more of their own songs and playing in public. This musical phenomenon recorded two demos in 2002 and played many more shows in the Charlotte area. In late 2003, band activities were on indefinite hiatus, leading many to wonder whether or not this magnanimous rock explosion would ever return. But of course, as many suspected, the band resurfaced in early 2004, vowing to come back strong after their long string of inactivity.

The Scholars' brand of rock is punk influenced, but not quite punk itself. They meld together their influences of punk, classic rock, hardcore, indie, and pop to brandish a musical weapon capable of destroying the weak and igniting a spark inside the captivated. For those lucky ones who've witnessed this band before, you ain't seen nothin yet.
